We have been awaiting our first CSA Share of the summer about as patiently as children wait for Santa. So when we heard that our first share would be this week we were very excited. We got an email from Heron Pond Farm saying that the first share would be light but that they wanted to get started.

Our pickup is super close to Dave’s house in Portsmouth. It’s only from 3-7 pm, so typically Dave will be retrieving it. But for the first one I wanted to go too so I hurried back to get there in time.

Here is what is in our share this week:

  • 1 Head Lettuce
  • 1 Bunch Chard
  • 1/2 Pound Potatoes
  • 1/4 Pound Shallots

Everything looks great and I am super excited to start using it. Stay tuned for another post with how we used it. I’ve never cooked or eaten Chard (as far as I know) so that should be interesting.
